Bathroom renovation in Málaga

We renovate bathrooms in Málaga, from replacing a bath with a shower tray to completely rebuilding the bathroom with new installations. As a renovation company in Málaga with our own architectural technologist, we take care of what you cannot see and what later causes problems: waterproofing, drainage and ventilation.

We have been renovating homes in Málaga for more than 15 years. We always start with a visit to see the real condition of the bathroom and its installations.

What your bathroom renovation includes

Bath to shower conversion

We replace the bath with a flush or low-profile shower tray and screen, and resolve the fall and the drain so that water runs away properly.

Waterproofing and installations

We renew plumbing and drainage and waterproof the shower area before tiling, which is what prevents leaks into the flat below.

Tiles and flooring

Wall finishes and non-slip flooring chosen for how the bathroom is used: porcelain tiles, microcement or natural stone.

Sanitaryware, vanity and lighting

Toilet, basin, vanity unit and taps suited to the space, with lighting and ventilation designed for a bathroom used every day.

How we work

  1. Technical visit to check the bathroom, its installations and the floor under the shower.
  2. Proposal for layout, materials and sanitaryware.
  3. Itemised quote before work begins.
  4. Works under technical supervision: strip-out, installations, waterproofing, tiling and fitting.
  5. Handover with the installations tested.

If you also want to renovate other rooms, we plan it together with the renovation of your apartment or house or the kitchen renovation.

Do you need a permit to renovate a bathroom?

Changing finishes or sanitaryware without altering the layout is usually handled with a responsible declaration or a minor works permit. If the layout changes, communal downpipes are affected or structural elements are involved, the procedure is different. We check it during the visit and take care of the paperwork.

Mistakes to avoid when renovating a bathroom

  • Tiling without waterproofing the shower. Tiles and grout are not watertight: without a waterproof membrane or mortar underneath, moisture eventually reaches the floor slab or the flat below.
  • Choosing the tray before checking the drain. In older buildings the available fall decides whether the tray can be flush with the floor.
  • Forgetting ventilation. A bathroom without enough extraction builds up condensation and mould, however good the materials.
  • Mixing tile batches. Shade and size vary between batches, and it shows, especially on single-colour floors.
  • Choosing the floor for looks alone. Wet areas need a non-slip floor of class 2 or 3.

We check these details on every project because the works are directed by our architectural technologist, not just the installer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I replace my bath with a shower without major works?
In most cases yes: it is interior work that does not affect the structure. The drain and waterproofing need to be checked.

How long does a bathroom renovation take?
It depends on the scope and the condition of the installations; we do not give timescales without seeing the bathroom. After the visit we give you a schedule.

Can I keep using the house during the works?
Yes, if there is another bathroom available. We organise the works to keep disruption to a minimum.

Who supervises the works?
Our architectural technologist, who coordinates plumbers, electricians and tilers.
